Resumo: The Pedagogical Residency Program, as a National Policy for the Training of Teachers in Basic Education in Brazil, is a CAPES program that aims to insert graduates into the school environment in the final years of graduation, in order to contribute to the experience and teaching practice of future teachers. This work aims to investigate how the performance and experience of the residents of Geography of the State University Vale do Acaraú (UVA) in the field schools of the cities of Sobral and Massapê. The survey, of a descriptive-interpretativist nature, and qualitative quantitative approach, took as a research instrument a form answered by the residents who have been through the experience of the program and whose answers show how it contributed to the professional training of teachers in training.

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar cómo el desempeño y la experiencia de los residentes de Geografí­a, de la Universidad Estatal Vale do Acaraú (UVA), en las escuelas de campo de las ciudades de Sobral y Massapê. La investigación, de carácter descriptivo-interpretativa, y enfoque cuantitativo cualitativo, tomó como instrumento de investigación una forma contestada por los residentes que han pasado por la experiencia del programa y cuyas respuestas muestran cómo contribuyó a la formación profesional de los profesores en formación. O Programa Residência Pedagógica, enquanto Polí­tica Nacional de Formação de Professores à Educação Básica no Brasil, é um programa da CAPES, que visa inserir os licenciandos no ambiente escolar na metade do processo formativo, de modo a contribuir com a experiência da prática docente dos futuros professores. Este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar como se deu a atuação e a experiência dos residentes do subprojeto de Geografia, em sua primeira edição, da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA), em três escolas-campo dos municí­pios cearenses de Sobral e Massapê. A pesquisa, de natureza descritivo-interpretativista, e de abordagem qualiquantitativa, tomou como instrumento de pesquisa um formulário respondido pelos residentes que passaram pela experiência do programa e, cujas respostas mostram como o mesmo contribuiu com a formação profissional dos professores em formação.
