Resumo: | Nowadays, digital technologies have multiplied the flow of communication and information around the world. Considering the digital medium as one of the most important for the Science popularization, mainly through online videos, this research aimed at investigating habit aspects, interestings and perceptions from Basic Education students about videos related to Science issues. This is an exploratory research that was performed with 160 students from semiarid region in Alagoas. For the data gathering was used a questionnaire containing open and multiple-choice questions. The findings pointed out that students mainly watch videos for fun, but videos that present scientific themes were very representative. The students also highlighted the importance of videos with scientific themes, in spite of watching such materials rarely. They also considered learning from videos and recognized them as a pedagogical possibility for teachers. The videos are configured in a new cultural dimension in which different scenarios and perspectives for science education and popularization, whose processes need to be questioned. |

Considerando el medio digital como uno de los principales para la difusión de la ciencia, especialmente con los videos, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo investigar aspectos relacionados con los hábitos, intereses y percepciones de los estudiantes de Educación Básica con respecto a videos de temas científicos. Esta es una investigación exploratoria realizada con 160 estudiantes de Educación Básica en la región semiárida de Alagoas. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante un cuestionario con preguntas abiertas y de multiplas opciones. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes buscan videos principalmente por diversión, pero son muy representativos los videos que presentan temas científicos. Los estudiantes también afirmaron que les gustan videos con temas científicos, a pesar de la frecuencia relativamente baja con la que buscan dichos materiales. También consideraran aprender a partir de los videos y los reconocen como una posibilidad pedagógica para el uso de docentes. Los videos en este contexto están configurados en una nueva dimensión cultural en la que surgen diferentes escenarios y perspectivas para la búsqueda y difusión de la ciencia, cuyos procesos deben ser cuestionados.O cenário atual das tecnologias digitais imprime um ritmo cada vez mais acelerado no fluxo da informação e comunicação. Considerando o meio digital como um dos principais para a divulgação da ciência, especialmente por meio de vídeos, esta pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar aspectos ligados aos hábitos, interesses e percepções de estudantes da Educação Básica quanto a vídeos de temáticas científicas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória realizada com 160 estudantes da região do semiárido alagoano. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de um questionário contendo questões abertas e fechadas. Os resultados apontam que os estudantes buscam principalmente vídeos para a diversão, mas vídeos que apresentam temas científicos se mostraram bastante representativos. Os estudantes também alegaram gostar de vídeos com temáticas científicas, a despeito da frequência relativamente baixa com a qual assistem tais materiais. Consideraram ainda aprender com os vídeos e os reconhecem como uma possibilidade pedagógica para uso pelos professores. Os vídeos nesse contexto configuram-se em uma nova dimensão cultural em que emergem diferentes cenários e perspectivas de busca e difusão da ciência, cujos processos precisam ser problematizados.
