The “parable of the (good) samaritan” in two versions: reflecting upon the construction of meanings in bibliocal texts via dialogical theory

Resumo: In this article, we intend to shed light on how meaning relationships can be triggered by comparing different versions of a text; in this case, one text coming from the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, we take as object of study a parable, which is a discursive genre particularly found in the biblical discursive sphere. Postulates arising from the dialogical theory of discourse, also referred to as Bakhtinian theory, are taken as a reference; these are: dialogism, intonation, word and style. Additionally, methods and types of translation are presented, a basis that provides us with elements to conduct this study. As a gesture of analysis, we verified an oscillation index especially regarding style, as the translations scrutinized are guided by different methods, and al so by their projected readership. Thus, potentially different meanings can reverberate to the readers of each version.

Para tanto, torna-se objeto de estudo uma parábola, gênero discursivo encontrado especialmente na esfera discursiva bíblica. Toma-se como referencial postulados advindos da teoria dialógica do discurso, igualmente referenciada como teoria bakhtiniana; são eles: dialogismo, entonação, palavra e estilo. Adicionalmente, apresentam-se métodos e tipos de tradução, embasamento que nos fornece elementos para conduzir este estudo. Como gesto de análise, verificou-se um índice de oscilação no que tange especialmente ao estilo, já que as traduções são pautadas por distintos métodos, e também por seu público leitor projetado.
