Resumo: The present study discusses racism in the media field, specifically in the police section, addressing articles about drug trafficking. We aim to discuss issues related to race and racism and their types based on definitions and thoughts of black authors. We seek to establish the debate to understand how black women are portrayed by the mainstream media and how journalism reflects on social issues. To the same extent, we understand that the way white subjects are represented by the media is inversely proportional to the set of discourses that permeate black bodies. Throughout the article, 8 articles were analyzed in the context of drug trafficking, whose protagonists are 4 white women and 4 black women. Among the results achieved, the following can be highlighted: the difference in treatment given to white and black women, with regard to linguistic aspects, the angle of the photographs and the construction of the narrative. The discussions we propose in this article are crossed by dialogues woven with Silvio Almeida (2018), Grada Kilomba (2019), Marcia Veiga da Silva (2010) and Stuart Hall (2016).
