Reflections on the chronotope of CAS Natal

Resumo: This article aims to verify the perception of deaf and hearing people at the State Training Centre for Educators and Care for People with Deafness (CAS Natal) about the deaf education offered by the institution. The Bakhtin Circle perspective on language underpins the discussion proposed here, especially about the chronotope, understanding that dialogical relations occur in a specific time and space. We are affiliated with the investigative approach of Applied Linguistics, as it deals with language as a social practice. The research is qualitative-interpretative, and the data analyzed was obtained from Lima (2022) Master's dissertation. The results show a solid emotional axiological connection between the participants and the institution, making it possible to recognize that the dialogical relationships that take place in an environment that fosters learning reflect visions about it and promote issues concerning the education of deaf people.

A perspectiva de linguagem do Círculo Bakhtiniano embasa a discussão aqui proposta, especialmente no que se refere ao cronotopo, ao compreender que as relações dialógicas acontecem em um tempo e espaço determinados. Filiamo-nos ao olhar investigativo da Linguística Aplicada, por versar sobre a linguagem como prática social. A pesquisa é de cunho qualitativo-interpretativista, sendo os dados de análise obtidos a partir da dissertação de Mestrado de Lima (2022).
