The following research seeks to understand the schooling expectations of parents of microcephalic children in the context of mothers located in Bahia state's Paulo Afonso City. This theoretical contribution considers disability carriers subjects with legal rights and recognize their abilities refardless of their conditions, this based in special education studies. From this point of view the environment of the school is able to provide these subjects with social, cultural and intellectual opportunities of development. This research aims to understand microcephaly consequences in children both development and schooling, and it is qualitative/exploratory and empirical in nature. The technique adopted consisted in semi- structured interviews featuring four mothers, parents of microcephalic children both in and out of the schooling age. After the research, we kept following the two major concerns: children development and children schooling, both carrying the experiences of the mothers. Within the results of this studies was found a key to a better understanding of schooling opportunities for these subjects: the pathology behavior is closely related to the expectations of the parents over their children future. This study aims to bring the topic to discussion in UFAL-Sertão graduation as well as in the academy over the equal school rights of children theme.
