A large part of the global population uses the Internet as a significant tool to aid in day-to-day procedures, and this type of access has extended not only to the needs of adults and adolescents, but also to children. It is possible to verify that the history of the evolution of the Internet brings with it aspects that reflect even today in society, culture and economy. An innovation developed in a delicate period of world history and that has become so effective nowadays, it certainly could not be a subject little studied or debated. Therefore, it is necessary to search effectively for the interactions between children and the digital world, the internet world. In this sense, it is a qualitative bibliographic research that sought to investigate the processes of Internet insertion in childhood, more specifically among children aged 5 to 10 years, seeking academic contributions to systematize the benefits and adversities of the use made by children, pointing to aspects such as parental and school mediation. For this, the study follows a qualitative bibliographical research approach. Finally, the articles gathered allowed the identification of how the Internet can start in the child's life, as well as understand how the mediations of the school and parents and guardians are important in the prevention of possible annoying situations suffered in childhood in online environments.
