Análise temporal da cobertura florestal do município de Teotônio Vilela/AL através do sensoriamento remoto

Forest cover is of great importance for the conservation and protection of natural resources and sois, in addition to avoiding temperature variation in the region, it also ensures that the nutrient cycle and biodiversity are not impaired. The use of satellite images for environmental studies are viable ways to obtain information, and they embrace large areas ofland, thus providing data of the objects of interest, in which they are extruded through visual analysis and digital processing techniques images. The objective of this study was to compare areas of forest coverage in the rnunicipality of Teotônio Vilela using LANDSAT-5 and LANDSAT-8 satellite images obtained in 2011 and 2017. The methodology was based on digital image processing using the ArcGIS 10.2.2 geoprocessing software, where the existing forest cover areas were quantified during the period considered. Comparing the results obtained from the classification of the images, it was observed that there was a decrease of 364.15 hectares (1.2%) of forest cover, going from 3.082,15 hectares (10.3%) in 2011 to 2,718, 00 hectares (9.1%) in the year 2018.
