The development of sustainable development indicators in Brazil, according to IBGE (2015), has the objective of supporting the joint efforts of the international countries for the realization of formulated ideas and principles of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro on 1992, thus developing economic models that take as the basis of their development process the environment and society. This paper will examine the Territory of Sustainable Development Index of Alagoas’ High Outback, in order to identify the dimensions that are greater difficulties in the development process. This course conclusion paper was developed through a comprehensive review of literature and secondary data collection on Sustainable Development Index of Alagoas’ High Outback territory. The data presented here were collected by the Board of High Outback, attended by some students of Economics of the Federal University of Alagoas, whose coordinator is Professor Luciano Celso Brandão Barbosa Guerreiro. Regarding the literature review were carried out bibliographic and documentary research on Sustainable Development, with the central base the theory Brundtland.This study aims to assess the sustainable development indices of the High Outbaxk region of Alagoas in order to identify the real situation of the sustainable development process in the region.
