Resumo: Female entrepreneurship has grown increasingly to time. The GEM - Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (2009), shows that the amount of entrepreneurial women outnumbered men, where they were 53% and 46% them. Despite this growth, women, compared to men, feel more difficult to enter the labor market. According to Eleonora Menicucci, former Minister of the Secretariat on Policies for Women, which differs from man in the labor market is the double burden of work called, since it is still normal to see women taking both the professional work, such as care related to the home, the children and husband. Therefore, it was decided to analyze the reality of women's entrepreneurship in the Sertao Alagoano in order to be aware of women's profile in the region's labor market and the obstacles they face. This information was obtained through literature searches and interviews with several women in the region.

O GEM – Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (2009),mostra que a quantidade de mulheres empreendedoras superaram os homens, onde elas ficaram com 53% e eles 46%. Apesar desse crescimento, as mulheres, comparado aos homens, sentem mais dificuldades para ingressar no mercado de trabalho. Segundo Eleonora Menicucci, ex-ministra da Secretaria de Políticas para as Mulheres, o que difere a mulher do homem no mercado de trabalho é a chamada dupla carga de trabalho, já que ainda é normal ver a mulher assumindo tanto o trabalho profissional, como os cuidados relacionados ao lar, aos filhos e marido. Diante disso, foi decidido analisar a realidade do empreendedorismo feminino no Sertão Alagoano com o objetivo de ter conhecimento do perfil das mulheres no mercado de trabalho da região e os obstáculos que elas enfrentam.
