This thesis has as its central theme the criticism of "humanization of work", advocated in the national commitment to Improve working conditions in the sugar cane (CN), and is subject of investigation the cane cutters of Brazil. The importance of the subject is due to the assertion that the workers would have their living and working conditions improved from this document, signed in 2009 as an alternative to alleviate the impact of mechanization, and that this would lead to the effective "humanization of work" in the sugar ethanol sector. However, the research points out that the CN served, deceptively, to improve the image of the brazilian economy in the international market. In fact, the development machinery in the country only made further degradation of cutting sugar cane workers, has always characterized activity of crude due to the requirement of increased productivity. Touted as the best response by the State to remedy the situation of workers, the CN begins to be elaborated after the journalistic media and some organizations denounce the degrading working conditions of cane cutters between 2005 and 2008. Consequently, the Covenant between the State, employers and workers was assumed to be an effective method to solve social problems, and the mechanization of the definitive guarantee plants for improving the quality of life of workers. Meanwhile, whereas the capital remains regulating this society and that CN is against the current deepening of exploitation of the work in class society, through patterns of production aimed at the expectations of capital, wonders if the limits of "humanization" of your project. So, from the proposal of CN, to the following questioning: is it possible to humanize the work in the sugar-alcohol sector since it takes place in the process of production and capitalist exploitation? The hypothesis raised by research argued that as this proposal was based on class antagonism, the process of humanization, while appropriation of the human race, could not be reached. With the main objective to reflect the concept of "humanization" of CN and its implications for the workers of the manual cutting of cane, this thesis is supported in historical materialism, in which the category work is critical to understand what "humanization" is being championed by the State and the contemporary capital strategies to deepen the process of exploitation and alienation of the working class. The methodological procedures adopted were the documental analysis, theoretical research and the literary review. Among his considerations, the survey found that the "humanization of work" on CN is linked to compliance with labor legislation and the mechanization of the plants. In this perspective, not features become human appropriation of social activities, only the atrophy on animal condition, since the requirement for the improvement of living and employment remains under the work alienated and estranged. Thus, almost the entire lifetime of the workers still being devoured by the capital, while the effective humanization (become human, distance themselves from natural barriers) is impractical when the main purpose of privacy is remedy the basic needs of man to keep him alive, while animal.
