The objective of this work is to describe the housing deficit of Santana do Ipanema / AL. To present the components of the inadequacy of housing, socioeconomic data and finally the housing deficit of Santana do Ipanema / AL. The theme is justified because housing is directly related to the demographic migration phenomenon and the fact that the municipality is the locus of a great economic investment that will probably change its territorial dynamics. Considering that the impacts to which this municipality is exposed are unpredictable, it is justified the constant monitoring of socioeconomic variables, passing through changes that alter the migratory dynamics to and from the municipality and its housing stock. Santana do Ipamena/ AL has a significant number of households considered inadequate. In the case of income, we found a correlation that is explained by the fact that those who have higher income have access to better infrastructure.
