In Brazil, Social Assistance has been developing rapidly with the main objective of protecting the family unit in the most diverse ways possible. One of the main milestones was the transformation of this service into a non-contributory right, guaranteed by the Federal Constitution of 1988. The programs, projects, services and benefits are coordinated by SUAS in the three spheres of government, and the performance of the municipal government deserves to be highlighted by it is the instance closest to the beneficiaries. Knowing the huge number of people who somehow have their lives impacted by this policy and the great importance of the local government, it is necessary to carry out studies on the real result that these activities have in improving the lives of the people who benefit from them. The present work had asobjective the evaluation of the improvement of life of the beneficiaries of SUAS in programs of transfer of income in Maceió - AL, taking into account data of quality of life, economy, work, health and education. In methodological terms, it materialized as an explanation for the research objective; as bibliographic and documentary regarding the procedures in data collection; and concomitantly qualitative and quantitative as to how to approach and respond to problems. Social assistance in Maceió is essential for the reduction of poverty due to the great scarcity of formal jobs, however, when analyzing the rates of work, income, education and social vulnerability, no major improvements are noticeable.
