This monograph presents a history of struggle and resistance between the Free Broadcasters within the city of Delmiro Gouveia, a municipality in the Sertão of Alagoas, which, even though functioning illegally, considered themselves community broadcasters because they operated at low power and directed to the affected community. It brings the difficulties faced by these broadcasters to conventional broadcasters, who denounce them by sealing these transmitters, resulting in fines and seizures. To get into the history of Delmiro Gouveia's community radios, and the first one legalized, the work begins with the arrival of the radio service in Alagoas, where its first radio station started operating illegally, but, finally, taking the State of Alagoas from the Zone of Silence in Brazil. Then the arrival of the radios in Delmiro Gouveia, where the first activity of broadcasting in Alagoas was the Service of Loudspeakers, before even Delmiro Gouveia to become City emancipated. It also highlights the arrival of the first conventional radio station in the city, and the illegal community and its trajectories. It shows reports obtained in interviews of people who are inserted in the history of these broadcasters, people who took part of them, directly and indirectly, who tell of their experiences and facts assisted by them. We will see in this work that the community radios' fight for their recognition comes from long dates and that when their recognition, finally arrived with Law 9.612/98, was not a victory of all. In the run for the award of the Community Broadcasting Service in Delmiro Gouveia, he won who had the most patience to wait, who did not insist on risking continuing working illegally. It was not necessary to have political influence to obtain the concession, but to follow all the criteria requested by the Ministry of Communications. Community action radio legalized or not, will always bother conventional radio stations, because it is aimed at serving the community, thus subtracting the audience from high-powered broadcasters and their local advertisers.
