Carpoteca de frutos secos: coleção biológica como ferramenta no ensino de Botânica

Botany teaching leaves a lot to be desired, with out of contexto, excessively theoretical and descriptive classes. Among the difficulties faced by Biology professor are the liition in preparing practical classes and the lack of student interest. The presente word had as objectives to assemble a carpotheca of dried fruits in the Botany laboratory, at the Institute of Exact Sciences and Technology ICET/UFAM, aiming to subsidize practical classes, school visits and itinerante exhibitions, as well as to improve the training of future teachers of the course in Degree in Science: Chemistry and Biology: The Fruits were collected in the city of Itacoatiara – AM and private samples were also incorporated. The random collection method waas used, looking for plants in the ICET Botany laboratory. From the taxonomic idenification of the species, the information was compiled in tags, containing data such as scientific name, popular name, family, type of fruits, dispersion and collector. The collection also has the proposal of a Mini manual. In the carpotheca, 95 fruits of 12 types were organized, distributed in 27 botanical families. The cataloged fruits showed diferente types of dispersion sydrome, mosto f them dehiscent. Importante medicical, food and enconomic species were recorded in the collection. The carpotheque will allow for the development of pratical classes in teaching Botany, significantly contributing to the learning of botanical concepts, the enhancement of flora and biodiversity conservation.
