Resumo: This Course Completion Work is an analysis of the content of Ecology in elementary education, having as its field of analysis the State Alberto de Aguiar Corrêa,in the Municipality of Pauini, Amazonas State, in the 7th grade classes. For that, we tried to investigate teaching practices, textbooks, using bibliographical research, observation and questionnaires to obtain data. The systematization, interpretation of data, discussion of results and elaboration of the present work, with considerations and suggestions for the practice of teaching ecology, demonstrated how the contents of ecology promoted a teaching that contributed to the making of effi cient decisions regarding the use and preservation of the environment, in accordance with the skills and abilities required by the National Common Curricular Base BNCC. Thus, we describe the trajectory of science and ecology teaching, with the struggles, t ransformations and achievements in the laws, the events experienced by teachers, narrating the contributions, challenges and experiences during the activities developed with elementary school students, knowing the difficulties faced by professors and stude nts in the teaching and learning process, pointing out didactic and playful means and using available technological resources, presenting the contributions that the teaching of ecology promotes in the teaching and learning process in fundamental education, to contribute positively to a better provision of quality education for students.

Para tanto, procurou-se investigar as práticas docentes, livros didáticos, utilizando a pesquisa bibliográfica, observação e questionários para obtenção de dados. A sistematização, interpretação de dados, discussão de resultados e elaboração do presente trabalho, com as considerações e sugestões para a prática do ensino de ecologia demonstraram como os conteúdos de ecologia promoveram um ensinamento que contribuiu para a tomada de decisões eficientes com relação ao uso e preservação do meio ambiente, de acordo com as competências e habilidades exigidas pela Base Nacional Comum Curricular-BNCC.
