In this course completion work, the effects of different educational reforms on the educational trajectory of a historic institution in the city of Manaus are analyzed. We seek to investigate the implementation process of educational reforms imposed in different historical educational moments in Brazil and in the city of Manaus-AM. In this way, we conclude a framework of analysis and discussions based on the area of public policy in the Amazon, to build a history of education in the city of Manaus in the period from 1869 to 1961. The work aims at a survey of the history of Colégio Amazonense Dom Pedro II, the characteristics that make it important, how it was based on the European models of the time, and how changes occurred in its educational and social model. Throughout the text, we seek to structure a sequence of historical accounts through legal documentation from different times about the principles and purposes of education proposed in the reforms that follow the period of effectiveness of the College. Subsequently, we focused the study on the investigation of the analysis of the limits of the educational reforms that were implemented nationally and locally in the scope of basic education. We used the analysis categories of school legislation and school institutions.
