THE TEACHER-TRAINING RURAL SCHOOL MURIALDO: MEMORIES OF FORMER STUDENTS (1947-1963)

Resumo: The history of Teacher-Training School Murialdo is situated in the context of schooling developed by religious congregations in regions of European colonization. The institution was founded in Ana Rech, a district of the city of Caxias do Sul, RS, in 1942. The objective is to analyze memories surrounding the institution and the way in which they are articulated with the formative paths. The project results from community actions in cooperation with state government policies. The highly educated school trained hundreds of distinguished rural teachers, such as Valter Antônio Susin and Telmo Luiz Paganella. The theoretical perspective is from cultural history and the methodology considers oral history collated with personal documents under documental analysis. The Church's influence is evident in the way these teachers guided their practices, assuming a leadership profile in their communities.

A instituição foi fundada em Ana Rech, distrito do município de Caxias do Sul, RS, em 1942. O objetivo é analisar memórias em torno da instituição e o modo como se articulam às trajetórias formativas. O projeto resulta de ações da comunidade em cooperação com políticas do governo estadual. A escola considerada “com alto grau de ensino”, formou centenas de professores rurais que se destacaram regionalmente, como Valter Antônio Susin e Telmo Luiz Paganella. A perspectiva teórica é da história cultural, e a metodologia considera a história oral cotejada com documentos pessoais sob análise documental.
