Resumo: This text is an extension of the homage to Prof. Sylvio Carlos Bandeira de Mello e Silva published in the magazine GeocritiQ of Barcelona, by request of Prof. Horacio Capel, when informed of his death. It is based on Sylvio Bandeira´s C.V. Lattes and other sources, in order to highlight the most important aspects of his life dedicated to Geography. Events were also recorded that occurred during the 30 years spent as colleagues. At the end summaries of testimonies of colleagues from Geography are presented as well as the full testimony of one of his ex-doctorate student.

Foram registrados também fatos ocorridos ao longo de 30 anos vividos como colegas de trabalho.
