The National Program for Production and Use of Biodiesel (PNPB) innovates by defining the mandatory inclusion of family farmers in the biodiesel supply chain in Brazil.Given the constant growth in the the Brazilian biodiesel market, the productive chains of Bahia state have been organizing to meet the demand regarding the volume of raw materials,as well as the quality of the final product sold. In Bahia, the various economic agents face the challenges of regional dynamics with several socio-economic and environmental problems that compromise the sector's competitiveness. Thus, the study aims to develop an analytical tool of competitiveness for the Production Chain of Biodiesel in Bahia, in order to meet the various links in the production chain, more focused to their daily problems of their local or regional reality. It is Ibased on information collected in previous studies on biodiesel production chain, competitiveness diagnostic models, and in interviews conducted in an intentional sample of sixteen key chain actors (institutions, mills, cooperatives, overwhelming, consultants and researchers) .The aim is that any production chain of biodiesel to be searched can apply this tool, enabling market players involved can be inserted successfully in the new competitive environment. Hence, this research in addition to being consistent with the academic perspective, will be a useful tool for all the supply chain agents.
