Nasopharyngeal aspirates were collected from the children and immunofluorescence and polymerase chain reaction were performed to investigate the presence of respiratory viruses. HBoV was detected in 4 out of 66 patients. Two of the HBoV-positive infants were co-infected with other viruses. The principal clinical findings in HBoV-positive children were: nasal obstruction, catarrh, cough, fever and dyspnea. This study revealed HBoV infection in children aged <2 months, suggesting that the infection may occur at a very early age.Submitted by Suelen Reis (suziy.ellen@gmail.com) on 2013-10-11T14:49:23Z No. of bitstreams: 1 J Trop Pediatr-2010-Souza-125-7.pdf: 79064 bytes, checksum: 5ebc08ac3d92e02cd023a84261e1daa4 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Rodrigo Meirelles (rodrigomei@ufba.br) on 2013-10-31T17:40:51Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 J Trop Pediatr-2010-Souza-125-7.pdf: 79064 bytes, checksum: 5ebc08ac3d92e02cd023a84261e1daa4 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2013-10-31T17:40:51Z (GMT).
