Resumo: Isotonic drinks are supplements formulated for the purpose of replenishing the water and electrolyte losses of athletes as a result of training or competition. The development of new formulations of this type of drink can contribute to the advancement of the sports drinks sector, increasing its consumption and commercialization. In this sense, several recent studies have revealed the viability of the incorporation of natural products into isotonic drinks and several patents on this subject have been registered world-wide. This work aimed to make a mapping of developed and patented isotonic drinks.

Nesse sentido, vários estudos recentes têm revelado a viabilidade da incorporação de produtos naturais em isotônicos e diversas patentes sobre esse tema têm sido registradas em nível mundial.
