Resumo: Sustainable development is a strategic theme and consists of actions of economic growth preserving the environment. The construction market is one of those that tend to grow under this perspective, and the patent "Process for the application of biomineralization in soil improvement", which is owned by the University of Brasília (UnB), is a technology that presents itself as an environmental alternative for improvements in soil mechanics in a sustainable way. The aim of this article was to present a prospective analysis of the patent through informetry with the indication of the degree of technological maturity and competitiveness of the patent in the target market, to proceed with the feasibility of the patent. The analysis showed that the technologies in this market are mature, UnB’s patent has a low degree of maturity and, therefore, low strategic character, although it has an innovative character and a high degree of environmental sustainability.

Assim o objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar uma análise prospectiva da patente por meio de informetria para indicação do grau de maturidade tecnológica e de competitividade da patente no mercado pretendido, a fim de proceder à avaliação da viabilidade patentária.
