Technological Prospecting for the use of Electrodes Containing Iron its Composition for the Reduction of Organic Loads in Water and Effluent Treatment

Resumo: The electrochemistry technology has been pointed as promising to the treatment of wastewater due to its high oxidation power, relatively low cost, and easy operation. The material of the electrodes used is crucial to the good performance of this treatment method. Aiming to map the scientific and technological prospects about the use of electrodes containing iron immobilized or in its composition to the oxidation of organic charges, it was performed review and research of scientific papers and patents from national and international databases. Despite it was revealed a dense scientific production related to this technology, with total of 438 articles, there are few technological products registered, summing 88 patents. It was also observed that the countries that holds patent deposits in this field were China, Germany and United Kingdom. This data shows that there is an opportunity of investment in research and development to generate innovation in this field.

Para esse método de tratamento, o material dos eletrodos utilizados é parte crucial para seu bom desempenho. Com o objetivo de traçar o panorama científico e o tecnológico relativos ao uso de eletrodos contendo ferro em sua composição para a oxidação de cargas orgânicas, foram realizadas buscas e análises de artigos científicos e patentes em bases de dados nacionais e internacionais. Apesar de revelada uma densa produção científica relacionada a essa tecnologia, com um total de 438 artigos, há poucos produtos tecnológicos registrados, perfazendo 88 patentes. Também foi observado que os países que possuem depósitos de patente nessa área são China, Alemanha e Reino Unido.
