Diagnosis on Intellectual Property Applied to Oysters Agribusiness in the Region of Florianópolis – Santa Catarina

Resumo: Among the acts necessary for business development is the perspective that analyzes the Intellectual Property assets that can be applied in production. The objective of this study was to carry out a diagnosis on Intellectual Property applied to oyster farming in the region of Florianópolis - SC. Methodologically, an applied, exploratory and qualitative research was carried out on the oyster market in the region. The procedure started from the theoretical analysis on Intellectual Property applied to regional oyster farming and a case study on a local company. It was found that, as it still works in an artisanal way, only the Geographical Indication is used. Other Intellectual Property protections (such as patents) end up not appearing and others (such as trademarks) make up the market line, usually from storage and logistics to the final consumer, demonstrating that Intellectual Property is an aspect with potential to be exploited in the oyster market in that region.

O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar um diagnóstico sobre a Propriedade Intelectual aplicada à ostreicultura na região de Florianópolis, SC. Metodologicamente, realizou-se uma pesquisa aplicada, exploratória e qualitativa sobre o mercado de ostras na região. O procedimento partiu da análise teórica sobre a Propriedade Intelectual aplicada à ostreicultura regional e de um estudo de caso sobre uma empresa local. Verificou-se que, por atuar ainda de forma artesanal, apenas a Indicação Geográfica é utilizada.
