The Importance of Patent-Based Technological Prospects and their Search Objectives

Resumo: Currently, the focus of technological prospecting through patents is focused mainly on search for priority and monitoring. There is little information on search strategies for other patent prospecting objectives other than those cited above. Thus, the present work aims to contribute with guidelines for technological prospection based on patents according to the purpose of the search. For this, from a bibliographic research in scientific databases; documental research in the electronic address of the World Intellectual Property Organization and databases of patent offices systematized information on diversified strategies depending on the objectives of the search of data. As results, there were shown the guidelines on patent-based technological prospecting according to the search objective.

As results, there were shown the guidelines on patent-based technological prospecting according to the search objective.  Atualmente o enfoque da prospecção tecnológica por meio de patentes está voltado, sobretudo, para busca de anterioridade e monitoramento. São escassas as informações sobre estratégias de busca para outros objetivos de prospecção em patentes além dos citados. Assim, o presente trabalho visa a contribuir com orientações para prospecção tecnológica em base de dados de patentes de acordo com o objetivo da busca. Para isso, a partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica em bases de dados científicos e de uma pesquisa documental no endereço eletrônico da Organização Mundial da Propriedade Intelectual e em bases de dados de escritórios de patentes, foram sistematizadas informações sobre estratégias diversificadas a depender dos objetivos da busca de dados.
