Resumo: This study proposes a technological evaluation of the patent application PI 0805516-5, owned by the University of Brasília (UnB). The technology, an invention request, refers to extracts and their derivatives, the processes of obtaining these plant materials, assets him isolated from plants of the genus Pouteria, and their use in the composition of medicines, food supplements or nutraceuticals compositions. The methodology used to conduct the study was the bibliometrics, Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Technology Roadmap (TRM) and SWOT Matrix, abbreviation of english words: strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Technology maturity analyzed resulted in a level that demand more research until it is ready to be transferred to the market. This can be accessed through the modality of know-how, since the granting of patents for biological material is not feasible, according to Law n. 9,279/96

A tecnologia se refere aos extratos, seus derivados e aos processos de obtenção desses materiais vegetais, incluindo ativos dele isolado, de plantas do gênero Pouteria e seu emprego na composição de medicamentos, suplementos alimentares ou composições nutracêuticas.  A metodologia utilizada no estudo foi a bibliometria, a Technology Readiness Level (TRL), a Technology Roadmap (TRM) e a Matriz SWOT, sigla em inglês das palavras Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities e Threats, (Forças, Fraquezas, Oportunidades e Ameaças).
