Resumo: | The present article aims to monitor the technologies associated with the application of ascorbic acid, from the search of information in patent banks, using the PatentInspiration® platform. Ascorbic acid is an essential nutrient and necessary for various metabolic reactions, being an essential substance because of its antioxidant character and can, therefore, be used as a natural preservative of foods, cosmetics and drugs. The present study deals with the survey of the technologies, applying as a search criterion an association of keywords: ascorbic acid, natural and preservative. The period considered was from 2000 to 2018/6, resulting in a total of 9.603 patents deposited, the year 2014 being the most significant deposit number. The central technology of application of ascorbic acid as a natural preservative was the formulation of preservatives plus other additives and natural antioxidants, besides, was the use of these technologies focuses on the food industry. |

O presente artigo trata do monitoramento de tecnologias associadas com a aplicação do ácido ascórbico, a partir da busca de informações em bancos de patentes, utilizando a plataforma PatentInspiration®. O ácido ascórbico é um nutriente necessário a várias reações metabólicas e uma substância importante por seu caráter antioxidante, podendo ser utilizado como conservante natural de alimentos, cosméticos e fármacos. Para o levantamento das tecnologias associada ao ácido ascórbico, aplicou-se como critério de busca uma associação de palavras-chave, a saber: “ácido ascórbico”, “natural”, “conservante” e “conservante natural”. O período considerado foi de 2000 a 2018/6, resultando um total de 9.603 patentes depositadas, com o maior número de depósito recuperados no ano de 2014.
