Resumo: Fishing is a significant economic activity, because it has importance in human food. However, such activity generates a large volume waste. These tailings can be used as feedstock in the production of fish by-products. Among the ways to add value to the waste are: animal consumption, human consumption, flour production, collagen acquisition, preparation of biodiesel or even fish oil. The present study aims to carry out a technological mapping to meet the techniques employed of oil extraction from fish waste. For the accomplishment this paper, a search has been made in patent databases (INPI, EPO, JPO e USPTO) and using the tool Orbit® Intelligence. Most of the patents found are chinese and the main technique used to obtain oil is based on cleaning the waste, with subsequent cutting, cooking, pressing and centrifugation.

Entretanto tal atividade gera um grande volume de resíduos. Esses rejeitos podem ser utilizados como matéria-prima na produção de subprodutos do pescado. Dentre as maneiras de agregar valor aos resíduos estão: consumo animal, consumo humano, produção de farinha, obtenção de colágeno, preparação de biodiesel ou a produção de óleo de peixe. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo a realização de um mapeamento tecnológico para conhecer as técnicas de extração de óleo a partir dos resíduos de peixe. Para a realização do artigo foi realizada uma busca em bancos de patentes (INPI, EPO, JPO e USPTO) assim como a utilização da ferramenta Orbit® Intelligence.
