Mobile and digital Technologies, like apps, have brought irreversible changes in different areas of society. The way of consuming information and cultural content on the internet through these technologies has brought new paradigms in the practice of reading. This work aims to carry out a prospective study of apps related to reading clubs, literature and books with a view to collecting data to spark a Brazilian panorama of applications on the subject. The searches were carried out in the computer program base of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and in the applications store Play Store. Of the 61 software records retrieves form the INPI, only 20% had some approximation with the study theme. Of the 65 apps retrieved from the Play Store, 80% are directly related to the subject. A gap was identified between Play Store apps and INPI registration, and it is necessary to value the culture of software protection.
