THE CONCEPT OF POLITICAL REGIME IN THE THEORY OF DEMOCRACY

The objective of this article is to verify how the approach of democracy as a political regime are presented in the literature, that is, how the correlation between the main indicators of this type of society, the democratic political institutions, and the context, whether historical, economic, social or cultural, with which they are articulated. Weverified that this literature can be thought from models, which are constituted from fundamental authors and expressed in the analyzes about the experience of democracy in Brazil. We think that the concept of political regime has great theoreticaland methodological importance, especially in the production of research agendas about concrete experiences of democracy, including  and especially about Brazil, and even in its constitution as a project of society and nation.
