O autor analisa a informalidade na América Latina a partir das normas que regulamentam as relações de trabalho, entendendo estas como o locas de articulação entre o econômico, o jurídico e o social. Partindo da relação de trabalho assalariada questiona as razões da observância ou não das normas de referência para, em seguida, posicionar o trabalho não assalariado em relação à relação salarial. Avança, observando como as condições de exercício das normas se refletem no plano da cidadania na América Latina, concluindo que, diferentemente do modelo europeu, o modelo de cidadania não-assalariada aí é que "marca" os assalariados sendo este um elemento fundamental na constituição mesma da informalidade na América Latina. THE INFORMALITY OF LABOR RELATIONS AND CITIZENSHIP IN LATIN AMERICA Bruno Lautier The author analyzes informality in Latin America as seen in the norms that regulate labor relations, with the understanding that these norms form the locus of the articulation between the economic, the judicial, and the social. Starting with the relations of wage labor, the author debates the reasons for the observance of not of the referred norms for the positioning of the relations of non-wage labor in front of those of wage labor. He continues, observing how the conditions of the exercise of these norms are reflected in the plan of citizenship in Latin America. He concludes that, in contrast to the europpean model, the model of non-wage citizenship in Latin America is that which "caracterizes" the citizenship of wage-earners, this being the fundamental element in the constitution of informality in Latin America.
