THE SHATTERING OF THE LEFT CONSENSUS IN THE BRAZILIAN PARLIAMENT: from the 1988 Constituent Assembly to the rise of Jair Bolsonaro in 2018

Resumo: The work aims to verify how a supposed “left consensus” presented in the Brazilian Parliament since the Constituent Assembly of 1988 hasappeared in recent years. Through the confrontation of research results that adopt methodologies based on the self-declaration of the parties, on the opinion of experts, and on the perception of the electorate, one concludes that there was a clear disruption of the so-called “right self-repression”, mainly after the rise of Dilma Rousseff, in 2010, and after the great protestations in June 2013, reaching Jair Bolsonaro election in 2018.

À travers la confrontation des résultats de recherches qui adoptent des méthodologies basées sur l’autodéclaration des partis, sur l’avis des experts et sur la perception de l’électorat, on aperçoit une claireperturbation de la soi-disant «auto-répression de droite», principalement après la montée au pouvoir de Dilma Rousseff, en 2010, et après les grandesmanifestations de juin 2013 et l’arrivée de Jair Bolsonaro au pouvoir en 2018.Este trabalho tem o objetivo de verificar como um suposto “consenso de esquerda” vigente no Parlamento brasileiro a partir da Constituinte de 1988 tem se manifestado nos últimos anos.
