Autobiographical thoughts on the representation of intersex bodies and cultural activism

Resumo: In this text, I narrate some of the moments that marked my experience in an intersex body. I reflect on my erotic, sexual, medical and activist autobiography to raise some questions about the representation of intersex bodies in aesthetic practices and the various ways to do activism in the intersex movement. Based on these questions, I ponder on the scarce representation that intersex people have in terms of objects and subjects of sexual and erotic desire and propose that the end of genital mutilation on intersex people should be pursued from different fronts, which should include a diverse imagination and representation of our bodies.

A partir de la reflexión acerca de mi autobiografía erótica, sexual, médica y activista me planteo ciertas preguntas sobre la representación de los cuerpos intersex en las prácticas estéticas y acerca de los distintos modos de hacer activismo dentro del movimiento intersex. Basándome en estas preguntas, reflexiono acerca de la escasa representación que los sujetos intersex tenemos en tanto objetos y sujetos de deseo sexual y erótico en el ámbito cultural y propongo el fin de las mutilaciones genitales a personas intersex sea perseguido desde varios frentes, los cuales incluyan el de las imaginaciones y las representaciones diversas de nuestros cuerpos.Neste texto, faço uma reconstrução de alguns momentos que marcaram minha experiência em um corpo intersexo. A partir da reflexão sobre minha autobiografia erótica, sexual, médica e ativista, questiono-me sobre a representação dos corpos intersexo nas práticas estéticas e sobre as diferentes formas de fazer ativismo dentro do movimento intersexo.
