Luciana PereiraDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal do ABC, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia e Gestão da Inovação, Santo André, 2018.A indústria financeira brasileira está sofrendo uma revolução pois estão surgindo no mercado modelos de negócios inovadores e totalmente baseados em tecnologia. As empresas fintechs, startups do setor financeiro, são umas das responsáveis por esta transformação no setor. Por isso, este trabalho procura conjecturar se o surgimento das fintechs no Brasil está relacionado apenas a uma janela de oportunidade e será um fenômeno efêmero ou se representam algo perene e robusto. Foram avaliadas as próprias fintechs para compreender suas características internas e seu ambiente externo e assim definir cenários em que são passageiras ou duradouras. Na avaliação interna das fintechs foi aplicada a ferramenta Business Model Canvas, através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas e entendimento dos diferenciais das fintechs comparativamente as empresas incumbentes. Em seguida na avaliação do ambiente externo das fintechs foi realizada a análise PEST para compreender 4 aspectos: político-legal, econômico, social-cultural e tecnológico. No Business Model Canvas, foram encontrados os 9 componentes do modelo de negócio das fintechs no Brasil. Os maiores diferenciais se concentram na proposta de valor: experiência digital, democratização dos serviços financeiros e redução de custos. Quanto a análise do ambiente externo, no aspecto político-legal há ameaças e oportunidades para as fintechs. No aspecto econômico, social-cultural e tecnológico há oportunidades. Os dados mostram que as fintechs apresentam grandes diferenciais com relação aos competidores incumbentes e o ambiente externo proporciona mais oportunidades do que ameaças. Por isso, através destas análises pode-se dizer que as empresas fintechs brasileiras, representam um fenômeno duradouro, no cenário de que o mercado e diferenciais permaneçam os mesmos de hoje.The Brazilian financial industry is undergoing a revolution as innovative and technology-based business models are emerging in the marketplace. Fintech companies, startups in the financial sector, are responsible for this transformation in the sector. Therefore, this paper seeks to conjecture if the emergence of fintechs in Brazil is related only to a window of opportunity and will be an ephemeral phenomenon or if they represent something perennial and robust. The fintechs themselves were evaluated to understand their internal characteristics and their external environment and thus to define scenarios in which they are transitory or long lasting. In the internal evaluation of the fintechs, the Business Model Canvas tool was applied, through semi-structured interviews and understanding of fintech differentials compared to incumbent companies. Then, in the evaluation of the external environment of fintechs, the PEST analysis was carried out to understand 4 aspects: political-legal, economic, social-cultural and technological. In the Business Model Canvas, the 9 components of the fintechs business model in Brazil were found. The main differentials focus on the value proposition: digital experience, democratization of financial services and cost reduction. As for the analysis of the external environment, in the political-legal aspect there are threats and opportunities for fintechs. There are opportunities in the economic, social-cultural and technological aspects. The data shows that fintechs present large differentials relative to incumbent competitors and the external environment provides more opportunities than threats.
