Resumo: This article presents a critical analysis regarding security devices as techniques of governing human life. The article analyzes the notion of safety devices presented by Foucault in a comparative study with the exception devices, studied by Agamben, showing how these devices operate in a paradoxical way in the protection and control of human life in the context of the biopolitical power of modern societies.
