Resumo: The article analyzes the everyday inequalities that domestic workers, mostly black, are subjected in Rio de Janeiro. For this, in-depth interviews were conducted with a semi-structured script in which the fundamental guiding thread was the social markers of gender, race and class and their overlapping as structural axes of inequalities dynamics. Thus, based on the reports of these workers, this research seeks to understand, through an intersectional perspective, how social relations can shape and interfere in the unequal relationship between employer and employee in different scopes. It was possible to verify the scarce universe of workers' choices in relation to occupation; the structural exploitation and devaluation to which they are subjected, as they directly carry out paid social reproduction work and racialized stereotypes linked to this type of employment.
