The return of competitiveness in the dispute for the government of Ceará in 2002O RETORNO DA COMPETITIVIDADE NA DISPUTA PELO GOVERNO DO CEARÁ EM 2002Evaluates the campaign for the government of the state of Ceará in 2002, focusing on special features seen on electoral competivity after a long hegemonic period led by Tasso Jereissati confirmed by successive victories always decided in the first election turn in 1986 through 1998. It analyses speeches of the two candidates that that reached the second turn: Lúcio Alcântara (PSDB) and José Airton (PT). The hypothesis is that the competivity which was built curing the campaign links itself to practical aspects of the challenged the electorate to join them as partners, of a game in which the strength of each competitor , not being previously known, had to be shown, tested and evaluated at each step.
