The Teaching Pathos in Narratives: relationships between work, teaching subjectivities and psychic illness

Resumo: | This paper compiles part of PhD research in Sociology and aims to discuss work, subjectivity and teaching pathos, their manifestations and possible connections. For the development of this study we opted for a qualitative investigation, using narratives and analysis of work trajectories and stories of illness with the aim of understanding the relationships between work, suffering and psychic illness of teachers undergoing treatment in the Teacher's House/SEED-AP. From the material produced through the research, we use the notion of teacher pathos to express modes of subjectivation driven to deal with the interweaving of multiple adverse situations experienced by teachers in the existential, family and work contexts. In the stories told, experiences of precariousness, harassment of objectivist management modes, desprestígio and desidealización of the office of teaching are intertwined. Suffering and illness appear as forms of resistance and survival of teaching subjectivities. |

Suffering and illness appear as forms of resistance and survival of teaching subjectivities.Este artigo compõe parte de pesquisa de doutoramento em Sociologia e tem como objetivo discutir trabalho, subjetividade e pathos docente, suas manifestações e possíveis conexões. Para o desenvolvimento desse estudo optou-se por uma investigação de cunho qualitativo, com uso de narrativas e análise de trajetórias de trabalho e histórias de adoecimento com o intuito de compreender relações entre trabalho, sofrimento e adoecimento psíquico de docentes em tratamento na Casa do Professor/SEED-AP. A partir do material produzido por meio da pesquisa, lançamos mão da noção de pathos docente para exprimir modos de subjetivação acionados para lidar com o entrelaçamento de múltiplas situações adversas vivenciadas pelos professores no contexto existencial, familiar e de trabalho. Entrelaçam-se, nas histórias contadas, experiências de precarização, assédio de modos de gestão objetivistas, desprestígio e desidealização do ofício de ensinar.
