Teaching illness from the perspective of teachers from Itarema-CE

Resumo: The article intends to analyze factors that indicate illness among teachers and to verify if, in reality of the municipal teaching network of Itarema-CE, psychic illness is present in the speeches of the interviewed teachers as a cause of teaching leave. This is a field research with exploratory qualitative methodology in which we used the semi-structured interview as an instrument for collecting information. Content analysis was the technique chosen for data analysis. It was found that the interviewed teachers perceive psychic illness in their daily work. In addition, it was noticed that, when they leave to take care of their health, the professors, when they return to their activities, find sickening environments that are little or not modified at all. We conclude that there is a need to reorganize the political strategies of the Municipal Department of Education and the personal and collective strategies used to restore the health of teaching workers.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo com metodologia qualitativa exploratória no qual utilizamos a entrevista semiestruturada como instrumento de coleta de informações. A análise de conteúdo foi a técnica escolhida para a análise de dados. Constatou-se que as professoras entrevistadas percebem o adoecimento psíquico no cotidiano laboral. Além disso, percebeu-se que, ao se afastarem para tratarem de sua saúde, os docentes, ao retornarem às suas atividades, reencontram ambientes adoecedores pouco ou nada modificados.
