Resumo: This study aimed to analyze the general stress at work, which refers to its intensity, prevalent symptoms, sources of stress at work and strategies to deal with stress of taxi drivers in the city of Belo Horizonte / MG. In terms of methodology, it is a descriptive and explanatory study with quantitative and qualitative approach, involving 458 taxi drivers. The quantitative results showed that 26.4% of taxi drivers showed a level of stress, but the qualitative analysis revealed that the subjects studied showed more severe manifestations of stress than in the quantitative approach. Significant sources of stress at work and use of strategies to deal with stress were also observed.

Em termos metodológicos, trata-se de um estudo descritivo-explicativo, com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, envolvendo 458 taxistas. Os resultados quantitativos apontaram que 26,4% dos taxistas apresentaram quadro de estresse, porém a análise qualitativa revelou que os sujeitos pesquisados apresentaram manifestações mais severas de estresse do que aquelas que os dados quantitativos evidenciaram. Significativas fontes de tensão no trabalho e a utilização, com regularidade, de estratégias de enfrentamento ao estresse também foram observadas.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el estrés en el trabajo en general, que se refiere a su intensidad, los síntomas predominantes, las fuentes de estrés en el trabajo y las estrategias de supervivencia de los conductores de taxi que operan en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte / MG. En cuanto a la metodología, se trata de un estudio descriptivo y explicativo con enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, con la participación de 458 taxistas. Los resultados cuantitativos muestran que el 26,4% de los taxistas mostró marco de estrés, pero el análisis cualitativo reveló que los sujetos estudiados mostraron manifestaciones más graves de estrés que las cifras mostraban.
