Among those studies, some have become referencial such as Biderman (1996; 2003), Finatto (2001a, 2001b), Welker (2004), Damim (2005) and Humblé (2006). Within the English lexicographic perspective, the objective of this paper is to describe the elements that constitute the different paradigms of the Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language (1989), henceforth Webster´s (1989), to find out how the complex and intricate net of information about de lexicon of the English language was constructed. The Webster´s (1989) has been considered a comprehensive thesaurus of the English language and culture since the XIX century.A metalexicografia brasileira tem desenvolvido importantes pesquisas relativas aos estudos críticos de produtos lexicográficos desde a década de 80. Dentre outros, destacam-se nesse campo os trabalhos de Biderman (1996; 2003), Finatto (2001a, 2001b), Welker (2004), Damim (2005), Humblé (2006). Dentro da perspectiva da Lexicografia inglesa, o objetivo deste artigo é descrever o conjunto de paradigmas que ordena a complexa e intricada rede de informações distribuídas no Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language (1989), doravante Webster´s (1989), o dicionário que se consolidou ao longo de sua história como um dos tesouros de referência da língua e da cultura inglesas desde o século XX.Revista Entrepalavras2017-07-20T15:54:54Z2017-07-20T15:54:54Z2013info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleapplication/pdfFarias, E.
