Resumo: Self-efficacy of parents and/or caregivers may contribute to the management and control of childhood asthma. The aim was to prepare a primer and validate its content and appearance. It is an educational booklet to promote the self-efficacy of parents and/or caregivers in the management and control of asthma in children. A methodological study was developed, in which the booklet "Are you able to control your child's asthma - let's learn together?" From the following trajectory: elaboration of the booklet, validation with content and technical judges, adequacy of material following judges' suggestions and post-validation version. The elaboration of the booklet was based on the items of the Self-Efficacy and Their Child's Level of Asthma Control: Brazilian version, in the clinical guidelines regarding the parameters of asthma control, and in the Theory of Self-efficacy. The content of the booklet was divided into four parts: I - presentation; II - educational content for the promotion of self-efficacy in the control and management of asthma, III - activity of interaction with the target public; and IV - illustrated action plan. The textbook script was applied to Flesch's readability test, reaching an index of 86, which is between 75 - 100, which classifies the material as "very easy" to read. The first version of the booklet was validated by 40 judges, selected from pre-established criteria; Of these, 35 judges were content, of which 20 had experience in teaching and 15 in the assistance; and five were technical judges, with experience in the field of communication. The pages of the booklet that reached the Content Validity Index (CVI)> 0.80 were considered validated. In validation with the content judges, the primer presented excellent overall IVC (0.93) for the three aspects assessed, language clarity, practical relevance and theoretical relevance. The technical judges validated the primer with global IVC of 0.96 for language clarity, 0.91 for practical relevance and 0.93 for theoretical relevance. With regard to the evaluation of the primer from the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) instrument, it was classified by content and technical judges as a material with a "higher" recommendation grade for use with the target audience, with a mean of 92.3%, and 95.0%, respectively. The final version of the booklet was completed with 40 pages. It is concluded that the elaborate primer is valid, with a high degree of recommendation by content judges and technicians to be used with parents and / or caregivers of children with asthma.

Ximenes, Lorena BarbosaGomes, Ana Lúcia AraújoLima, Kamila Ferreira2018-05-03T14:12:12Z2018-05-03T14:12:12Z2018-02-26info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfLIMA, K.
