Resumo: Given the exponential growth of the business consulting market in Brazil as well as the evolution of the Secretariat professional profile, being associated by the recent academic literature to the consultant profession, this work aims to verify whether the professional of Executive Secretariat considers the consulting business as a career option. The specific objectives are: a) analyze the sense of teachers, students and graduates of the Executive Secretariat course of UFC about consulting as a career option in Secretariat; b) identify whether there is the interest of students and graduates of this course in the career in business consulting area; c) analyze the training necessary for a professional in consulting and compare with the training given to graduate student in the Executive Secretariat. For this, the consulting market in Brazil and in the world is discussed, also the profile of the consultant, from studies of Crocco and Guttmann (2010), Oliveira (2012), Block (2011) and Schein (2008), as well as the Secretariat profession and professional skills, with the contributions of Adelino and Silva (2012); Durante (2012); Martins et al. (2015); Paes et al. (2015); Schmitz, Battisti and Santos (2015) among others. This is a field research, qualitative and descriptive. Data were collected through the application of a model questionnaire to teachers, students and graduates of the Executive Secretariat course of UFC. Content analysis was used to data interpretation. It was found that most of the research respondents considered that the Executive Secretary is able to seek a career in this area, thanks to its multidisciplinary training. However, only the graduation is not enough to act as a consultant and thus the Executive Secretariat course provides only basic training, both technical and human, additional training is required. Moreover, it was found that the interest of students and graduates of the course in consulting career is still minimum and can be inferred that this finding is due to the low offered encouragement and the incipient contact with consultancy during graduation. In conclusion, by the basic training standpoint, the consulting business is a promising area for the professional of Executive Secretariat, but additional training is essential for the full exercise of the consultant profession.

Soares, Sonia Regina AmorimPerreira, Washington Carlos Ribeiro2018-08-17T14:45:56Z2018-08-17T14:45:56Z2016info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfPEREIRA, Washington Carlos Ribeiro.
