Resumo: | The changes in the business environment impacted directly in the administrative process of companies and activities of the professional secretariat. Today these professionals tend to assume managerial roles adapting themselves to organizational realities (DURANTE 2012). Despite the changes in the performance of executive secretaries, the management played by secretarial workers is still restricted for companies not fully recognize their capabilities and how they can contribute to the development of the business (LASTA DURANTE 2008). This problem originated this research whose research question is: how the executive secretaries participate in organizational management? The goal, therefore, is to check the activities of the executive secretaries in the management processes of the companies where they work. As for the specific objectives were defined: 1) theoretically understand the management process and the role of managers in organizations; 2) identify the roles played by executive secretaries; 3) identify whether the executive secretaries perform management activities. A descriptive and qualitative study was conducted. For data collection was used a structured questionnaire. The survey was conducted with executive secretaries, which was considered specific training in secretarial and also the time of completion of the course. Were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively the 14 professional data obtained. As for the functions performed by executive secretaries, the survey revealed the multiplicity of positions and registered functions, given that the subjects are registered as analyst, assistant, director, executive secretary, supervisor and administrative agent. The positions are held in three hierarchical levels - strategic, tactical and operational, all in the administrative area of the organizations, participating in the management process. When identified the activities of the Executive Secretaries, was possible to notice the breadth and diversification of tasks, some more complex, requiring more knowledge and responsiveness, and more operational. It was noticed that the role in negotiations and strategic planning of organizations, participation in the process of making decisions, alignment and contribution to achieve institutional goals and contribute to the definition of these objectives and targets, activities that prove that these professionals are involved with the management of the business process. The results indicated that most participants engage with management in organizations they work, collaborating with the management of business and people. |

Hoje esses profissionais tendem a assumir papéis gerenciais adaptando-se às realidades organizacionais (DURANTE, 2012). Apesar das mudanças na atuação dos secretários executivos, o gerenciamento desempenhado pelos profissionais de secretariado ainda é restrito pelas empresas não reconhecerem completamente as capacidades daqueles e como eles podem contribuir para o desenvolvimento do negócio (LASTA, DURANTE, 2008). Essa problemática originou esta investigação que tem como questão de pesquisa: de que forma os secretários executivos participam da gestão organizacional? O objetivo, portanto, é verificar a atuação dos secretários executivos nos processos de gestão das empresas em que atuam. Quanto aos objetivos específicos, definiram-se: 1) compreender teoricamente o processo gerencial e o papel dos gestores nas organizações; 2) identificar as funções exercidas pelos secretários executivos; 3) identificar se os secretários executivos realizam atividades de gestão. Foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva e qualitativa. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizado um questionário estruturado. O levantamento foi realizado com secretários executivos, no qual se consideraram a formação específica em secretariado e o tempo de conclusão do curso. Foram obtidos dados de 14 profissionais, analisados de forma descritiva e qualitativa. Quanto às funções exercidas pelos secretários executivos, a pesquisa permitiu constatar a multiplicidade de cargos e funções registradas, tendo em vista que os sujeitos estão registrados como analista, assistente, diretora, secretária executiva, supervisor e agente administrativo. Os cargos são exercidos nos três níveis hierárquicos – estratégico, tático e operacional, todos na área administrativa das organizações, participando do processo gerencial. Ao identificar as atividades realizadas pelos secretários executivos, foi possível perceber amplitude e diversificação das tarefas, algumas complexas que exigem mais conhecimento e capacidade de resposta, além de outras mais operacionais. Percebeu-se a atuação em negociações e planejamentos estratégicos das organizações, participação no processo de tomada de decisões, alinhamento e contribuição para alcançar os objetivos institucionais, bem como na contribuição para a definição destes objetivos e das metas, atividades que comprovam o envolvimento destes profissionais com o processo gerencial do negócio.
