Resumo: | From the peircean semiotics idea whereby any thinking is necesserily semiosis and translation, because it transmutes signs into signs, the goal of this article is to reflect about the sign-thinking translation in literature, specially in the novel Mrs. Dalloway (1925), of the english writer Virginia Woolf. In the book, the literally technique known as stream of consciousness is used to translate the human thinking and to introduce the reader to psychological aspects of the characters. Virginia Woolf began working the writting in stream of consciousness in her third novel, Jacob’s Room, in 1922 - but only in 1925, in Mrs. Dalloway, she formulated a novel entirely devoted to consciousness. This article aims to discuss the stream of conciousness present in Woolf’s novel as an intersemiotic translation form between the thinking language and written language. Besides peircean semiotics, we lean on his perception theory. To discuss the translation, this paper evokes Julio Plaza’s thinking, which talks closely to peircean semiotics and with Paul Ricoeur’s legacy. As modern literature, the literary critic James Wood and the historian Peter Gay are the authors we lean on. |

Revista Entrelaces2017-06-13T14:39:16Z2017-06-13T14:39:16Z2013info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleapplication/pdfRODRIGUES, Isadora Meneses; REINALDO, Gabriela Frota.
