Resumo: The present work is the object of research on the "chemistry of paints" as a context for the teaching of high school chemistry. The main objective of this project is to evaluate some aspects of the chemistry involved in paints, associating with the topics addressed in secondary education. One of the objectives of this work was to show students the connection between didactic chemistry and everyday chemistry, thus helping to understand the chemistry subjects discussed in the classroom. It was developed in 2017, in a school in the state school network of the city of Caucaia-CE with a class of the first year of high school, composed of 17 students. Initially, a questionnaire with five questions about mixes and solutions was used to verify students' previous knowledge about the subject. Next, the importance of the inks and the four basic elements of their composition, as a way of contextualizing the knowledge of chemistry, were demonstrated through dialogic expositive classes. At the end of the presentation, a new questionnaire containing the five initial questions, with some modifications, was applied to evaluate the students' knowledge after the explanation. In the initial questionnaire the indexes obtained were very low, leading one to believe that they had little knowledge about the investigated subject (mixture and solutions). After the didactic explanation, it was verified through the post-questionnaire that these indices had a significant increase in relation to the previously applied questionnaire. It was shown in the realization of this work that this new methodology aroused more students' interest in learning, in this way, it is believed that the use of contextualization as a methodological proposal in chemistry classes, a method that although still a Object of study, in order to allow students a more direct understanding of daily life, can bring satisfactory results if applied correctly.

O principal objetivo deste projeto é avaliar alguns aspectos da química envolvida nas tintas, associando aos assuntos abordados no ensino médio. Um dos objetivos deste trabalho foi mostrar para os alunos a conexão da química didática com a química do cotidiano, ajudando desta forma na compreensão dos assuntos de química discutidos em sala de aula. Ele foi desenvolvido no ano de 2017, em uma escola da rede estadual de ensino da cidade de Caucaia-CE com uma turma do 1º ano do ensino médio, composta por 17 alunos. Inicialmente foi aplicado um questionário com cinco perguntas sobre misturas e soluções para verificar o conhecimento prévio dos alunos sobre o assunto. Em seguida foi demonstrado por meio de aulas expositivas dialogadas, a importância das tintas e os quatro elementos básicos da sua composição, como forma de contextualização dos conhecimentos de química. Ao término da apresentação, foi aplicado um novo questionário contendo as cinco perguntas iniciais, com algumas modificações, para avaliar o conhecimento adquirido dos alunos após a explicação. No questionário inicial os índices obtidos foram muito baixos, levando-se a crer que tinham pouco conhecimento sobre o assunto investigado (mistura e soluções). Depois da explanação didática, verificou-se através do pós-questionário que esses índices tiveram um aumento significativo em relação ao questionário aplicado anteriormente.
