Resumo: The diversity and abundance from microbiota that is present in sea surface microlayer (SML) and atmosphere are influenced by several factors. Microbiological interactions between water/air play an important role in regulating the oceanographic and meteorological processes of the planet. Thereby, this study had as leading aim to investigate the abundance and diversity of cultivable bacteria in SML and bioaerosols originated in Fortaleza coast in an area influenced by the discharge of the Maceió stream. Sampling occurred at points upstream (P1) and downstream (P2) of the stream's mouth, during different seasonal periods (rainy and sunny seasons) and spring tides. The bacteria present in SML and marine bioaerosols were sampled by impregnation in filter papers and spontaneous sedimentation, respectively. The colonies that grew were counted and the results were expressed as CFU/m² and CFU/m³ for water and air, respectively. Bacterial colonies were isolated and identified by phenotyping. Quantitatively, the SML bacteria showed superiors during the rainy season when compared with the microbiota present in the bioaerosols for the same period. Among the collection points, P2 showed higher values. For both environments there was predominance of Gram-negative bacteria. However, there were shifts in dominance according to climatic season, tides and collection points. In total, 29 taxonomic groups were identified with variable diversity for SML and bioaerosols. It was observed coincidence of bacterial strains and groups in both micro-environments, demonstrating that there is interaction between them. The meteorological, oceanographic and continental variables influenced bacterial abundance and diversity. The identified bacterial taxonomic groups demonstrated the marine and continental contributions in the formation of SML microbiota and marine bioaersols, highlighting the constant and representative presence of the genera Bacillus and Corynebacterium.

As variáveis meteorológicas, oceanográficas e o aporte continental influenciaram a abundância e diversidade bacteriana.
