Resumo: | The microbiota present in the surface layers of the ocean and in the atmosphere is varied and abundant, and may be influenced by several factors that contribute to its dispersion. These microorganisms interact with the water / air interface and are of great importance in meteorological and oceanographic processes. Thus, the present study aimed to biochemically identify bacterial strains present in samples collected from the oceanic surface microlayer and marine bioaerosols in the Atlantic Ocean and Equator, relating to the influence of oceanographic processes on the dispersion of these microorganisms. For this purpose, samplings were carried out, during the PIRATA Project expedition, of marine bioaerosols and the critical surface layer along the South Atlantic and Ecuador, as well as the measurement of the physical-chemical parameters at each collection point. The samples were stored and taken for analysis at the Laboratory of Environmental and Fish Microbiology (LAMAP), located at the Institute of Marine Sciences, where bacterial strains were isolated and identified by phenotyping processes. In total, 10 taxonomic groups were found that are distributed differently in the two environments, with emphasis on representatives of the Enterobacteriaceae family and the species Serratia liquefaciens. These groups demonstrate the continent's contribution to the composition of the surface micro-layer microbiota and marine bioaerosols. |
