Resumo: Cosplay consists of the act of characterizing one's self as a fictional character of any medium/work, be it an animated cartoon, a movie, a game, a book, among others. The act of dressing with a cosplay became a popular hobby, reaching to many people in the world. However, even being a hobby connected to the nerd and geek culture, that is seen with such weirdness by society and theoretically being an inclusive culture, it is not what is seen under practice. People that originate from political minorities, among them, handicapped people, are constantly discriminated against in the cosplay medium, from direct ableist attacks to lack of accessibility to the cosplay dressing. This is something that makes them go in search of the cosmakers, professionals capable with the cosplay confection, for needlewomen or even make themselves with the help of friends. This Course Conclusion Project consists of the analysis of the cosplay elaboration process by wheel-chaired people, of the character's choice, going through the choice of materials and professionals for confection to use in events. Besides that, it also proposes to analyze the challenges of anthropometry and ergonomics in this process, as the confection of clothing for wheelchaired people is a different method compared to the people with no handicaps, the importance of cosplay to these people and the participation of the wheelchair during the cosplay use. Interviews with cosplayers have been made, to the ends of understanding on how this process is made. With this, a deep thought around the ableism in society, reflecting upon the act of dressing yourself by the lack of accessibility, was made, showing that the population is still not ready to give space to handicapped people — something that needs to be modified with urgency.

Matos, Adriana Leiria BarretoOliveira, Ully Uchoa2022-10-04T11:13:01Z2022-10-04T11:13:01Z2022info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfOLIVEIRA, Ully Uchoa.
